Payroll Specialist (Contract-to-Hire Opportunity)

We're partnering with a well-established organization seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team during a critical coverage period, with the possibility of transitioning into a longer-term role.

This position is ideal for a payroll professional who is organized, adaptable, and eager to learn complex payroll processes in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

• Support payroll processing for approximately 300 employees.
• Review, validate, and enter employee timekeeping information into payroll systems.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of employee payments.
• Utilize Excel to organize, audit, and reconcile payroll-related data.
• Assist with payroll reporting and troubleshooting payroll discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures.
• Learn and navigate multiple payroll rules and pay structures.
• Provide support for both union and non-union employee populations.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of payroll experience.
• Familiarity with payroll processing principles and payroll compliance.
• Experience with union payroll environments is a plus, but not required.
• Strong data entry and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to learn quickly, take detailed notes, and work independently.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience using Excel, including formulas; Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs are highly preferred.
• Exposure to ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll software is helpful, but candidates with strong payroll fundamentals are encouraged to apply.
